Between Friday, February 12th and Tuesday, February 16th, three Halton residents have been reported as dead from COVID-19.
All three deaths appear to have been Halton Hills residents, giving the township 45 deaths total from the virus. Burlington remains at 49 deaths total, Oakville is at 58 deaths total, and Milton is at 33 deaths total. Halton, as a whole, is at 185 deaths total.
Across the Region, there are 66 new cases being reported on Tuesday. That brings the total number to 9073 cases. With 8629 resolved cases and 185 deaths, Halton is now at 259 active cases – 50 less than Friday’s total.
In Milton, there are 19 new cases. The town’s total is now 2879 cases. With 2769 resolved cases and 33 deaths, Milton now has 77 active cases – six less than Friday’s reported number.
Looking at Milton’s major ongoing outbreaks:
- Since Sunday, January 10th, there have been 32 reported cases at Allendale. 18 are residents, four are staff members, three are unspecified, and the other seven are categorized as ‘non-Halton’ cases. There have been four deaths at the LTCH: three were residents, while the other one is still not specified.
- On Monday, January 18th, the Halton Region reported an outbreak at what is classified as ‘Congregate Living – 37’. It’s believed that this is Maplehurst Correctional Facility, which was reportedly experiencing an outbreak at the same time of the same magnitude. As of the time of writing, there have been 283 total cases reported during this outbreak. 180 have been residents, 12 have been staff members, and 91 are categorized as ‘non-Halton’ cases.
