Applications are being accepted for the new Ontario Small Business Support Grant.
The program is being offered to small businesses that are required to close or significantly restrict services under the Provincewide Shutdown.
myFM News spoke with new Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy.
Businesses can get up to $20,000 to help cover lost revenue if they have experienced a drop of at least 20% when comparing monthly revenue in April 2019 and April 2020.
Downtown businesses recently received a boost in their online presence, thanks to a nearly $50 million investment by FedDev Ontario and MEDJCT.
Bethlenfalvy says that new businesses can also receive the grant.
He adds that this grant is in addition to other assistance already in place.
Once the application is successfully submitted, an eligible business can expect to receive payment within approximately 10 business days.
