myFM News spoke with an analyst with Statistics Canada, Erik Dorff, who gives you the basics.
It’s a two-part process:
- Complete an online survey.
- Take part in an at-home finger-prick blood test.
Dorff says they will test the dried blood for the presence and prevalence of antibodies of participants across Canada
The analyst adds that if you’re chosen for the survey but have never tested positive for COVID-19, you should still complete it. He says it’s possible that you’ve been exposed to the virus and don’t know it because the symptoms just never showed.
Dorff says the entire survey, including result publication, should be completed by the end of the year.
COVID-19 has also heightened concerns people have about security, but Dorff says Canadians have nothing to worry about when it comes to this survey.
