The Town of Milton is going to be diving into more development Monday night.
It’s the first Town Council meeting of 2021. A part of the agenda includes scheduled public meetings on select development plans within Milton. The Regional Councillor of Ward 1, Colin Best, says some public meetings could lead to better Town infrastructure down the road.
He adds that it’s important to hear from residents and get this kind of feedback because it shows the Town of Milton what people do and don’t want. According to Best, there have been ideas presented by one person that changes the way Staff and Council think because they themselves did not have that kind of idea.
Best feels that residents should be happy to hear that more growth is coming.
He says it is difficult for municipal governments because they don’t have control over everything. Issues like education, transportation, and hospital facilities all rely on the federal and provincial government for improvements.
