Allendale is back into another outbreak.
This is the third COVID-19 outbreak that the LTCH has experienced, and it comes just days after the previous one had been declared closed. 19 residents died between November 13th and January 5th after 89 total cases were confirmed. As of the time of writing, there has been just one reported case at Allendale. The case is classified as ‘non-Halton’.
Some good news as Martindale’s outbreak officially closed over the weekend. The retirement home finished with seven total cases: two residents, three staff members, and two ‘non-Halton’ cases. There were two deaths, both were residents.
Looking at the other ongoing outbreaks happening in Milton:
- The Milton District Hospital has had an ongoing outbreak since December 12th. Since then, there have been 18 reported cases. eight have been residents, three have been staff members, and seven have been ‘non-Halton’ cases. There has been one death at the hospital associated to this specific COVID-19 outbreak. The person was categorized as a resident.
- Since December 16th, there have been 56 cases reported at Revera Birkdale Place. 39 of the cases have been residents, ten have been staff members, four are unspecified, and three are ‘non-Halton’ cases. There has been one death associated to the outbreak at the retirement home. It was a resident.
There are also three more deaths being reported in Halton that are attributed to COVID-19. That brings Halton’s total death count to 133. The three deaths were residents in Burlington (29), Halton Hills (30), and Oakville (47).
Across Halton on Monday, there are 58 new cases. That brings the total count up to 7064. With 6243 resolved cases and 133 deaths, Halton is at 688 active cases – 106 less than what was reported on Friday.
In Milton, we have 21 new cases. That brings our total to 2186 cases. With 1934 resolved cases and 27 deaths, Milton is now at 225 active cases – 36 less than what was reported on Friday.
