While frontline healthcare workers will be among the first to get COVID-19 vaccines, the president of the Ontario Dental Association wants to see dentists on that list too.
The ODA sent a letter to Health Minister Christine Elliott on December 4th requesting dentists and their dental staff be considered for early vaccination to ensure their safety so they can continue to treat patients and lessen the burden on our already taxed healthcare system.
ODA Presiden Dr. Lesli Hapak says they worked at close contact with patients regularly.
Hapak adds that while there hasn’t been any known COVID-19 cases stemming from dental offices, it’s still important to get dentists vaccinated for everyone’s safety.
