The ChristmasFest Extravaganza is happy with their recent move to virtual.
The annual event also shifted to being a month long in December. Both changes were due to the COVID-19 pandemic impacting the way the event could be held in person.
The President of the Milton Historical Society, John Challinor, says it was something new for them, but they’re happy with the results.
The MHS is still working on tallying up numbers. The money raised goes towards helping maintain the Waldie Blacksmith Shop, the only privately operated urban museum in Milton.
The most popular items in the sale continued to be the historical books. Challinor says that with the pandemic, people are more willing to dive into the books – especially when they cover the history of our town.
According to the Ward 2 Town Councillor, the changes to the event may become more of the norm moving forward.
The Waldie Blacksmith Shop can be found at 16 James Street in Milton.
