The Region of Halton is reporting 134 new cases of COVID-19 across Halton for Monday.
myFM News last did a COVID update on December 31st. Since then, there have been 462 new COVID-19 cases across Halton. Halton’s total number is now 6363 cases.
There have also been 11 deaths in Halton since the New Year began, giving the Region 119 deaths total. Two of those deaths are in Milton, giving our town 27 deaths total. Oakville has 43 deaths, Burlington has 25 deaths, and Halton Hills has 24 deaths.
Including 5557 resolved cases, Halton is now at 687 active cases, 107 more since December 31st.
In Milton, we have 47 new cases reported today. The total is now 1968 cases for Milton. With 1721 resolved cases and 27 deaths, Milton now has 220 active cases – 55 since the 31st.
Looking at the outbreaks in our town:
- Since November 13th, Allendale has had 89 cases. 60 have been residents, 15 have been staff members, two are unspecified, and two are considered ‘non-Halton’ cases. There have been 19 reported deaths in the LTCH associated to COVID-19. All 19 have been residents.
- The Milton District Hospital has had an ongoing outbreak since December 12th. Since then, there have been 15 reported cases. Seven have been residents, two have been staff members, and six have been ‘non-Halton’ cases. There has been one death at the hospital associated to this specific COVID-19 outbreak. The person was categorized as a resident.
- Martindale Gardens first reported an outbreak on December 14th. Since then, seven cases have been reported. One was a resident at the resident at the retirement home, three have been staff members, one person is unspecified, and two are ‘non-Halton’ cases. There have been two deaths. One is a resident, and one is unspecified.
- The most recent outbreak in Milton is at Revera Birkdale Place. Since December 16th, there have been 52 cases reported. 37 of the cases have been residents, nine have been staff members, three are unspecified, and three are ‘non-Halton’ cases. There has been one death associated to the outbreak at the retirement home. It was a resident.
