Another Halton resident has reportedly died from COVID-19.
The death brings Halton up to 108 deaths total attributed to the virus. It’s believed to be a Halton Hills resident as it now has 20 deaths on the Region of Halton COVID-19 webpage.
Across Halton, there are 95 new cases. The total number for the Region is 5901 cases. With 5213 resolved cases and 108 deaths, Halton is now at 580 active cases – 24 more than yesterday’s report.
In Milton, we have 26 new cases. That brings us to exactly 1800 cases total. With 1620 resolved cases and 25 deaths, Milton is at 155 active cases – one less than yesterday.
As for the outbreaks that are ongoing across Milton:
- Allendale has 88 reported cases: 60 residents, 14 staff members, two unspecified cases, 12 ‘non-Halton’ cases. The LTCH has had 19 deaths – all 19 have been residents. The outbreak has been ongoing since November 13th.
- The Milton District Hospital has had 9 reported cases: six residents and three ‘non-Halton’ cases since December 12th. The Hospital has experienced one death due to the outbreak. The death was reportedly a resident.
- Martindale Gardens has been experiencing an outbreak since December 14th. Since then, there have been six cases: one resident, two staff members, one unspecified case, and two ‘non-Halton’ cases. It has had one death from COVID-19. The death was a resident.
- Revera Birkdale Place has had 50 reported cases of COVID-19: 36 residents, nine staff members, two unspecified cases, and three ‘non-Halton’ cases. The outbreak began on December 16th.
There will be no COVID-19 totals for Friday, January 1st. The Region of Halton says “staff will continue to respond to all COVID-19 cases and contacts reported over the holidays.” It adds that with totals not being released for two consecutive days, residents should expect the numbers for Saturday, January 2nd to be higher than the average.
