The number of new COVID-19 cases in Halton today is pushing 100.
Across Halton, there are 91 new cases of the virus. That brings the total number to 4703 cases. With 4219 resolved cases and 84 deaths, Halton is now at 400 active cases – a 26 case increase from yesterday.
In Milton, there are 29 new cases. The total number is now at 1421 cases. With 1278 resolved cases and 18 deaths, Milton is now at 125 active cases – 12 more than yesterday.
The Region of Halton has confirmed an earlier report by myFM News that Martindale Gardens is experiencing an outbreak. There is one confirmed case in the facility. It is not yet known if the person is a resident or a staff member. Sienna Senior Living has not yet confirmed the report.
Martindale joins Allendale and the Milton District Hospital as local institutes experiencing outbreaks.
As of the time of writing, within Allendale, there have been 69 total cases: 57 residents, 10 staff members, and two people with their roles not specified. The LTCH has experienced 13 deaths, all of which being residents.
At the hospital, there have been three confirmed cases. All three are classified as ‘residents’.
Burlington has the most active cases among Halton municipalities with 126. Milton is close behind with 125, and Oakville is third with 120. Halton Hills is well below all three with 29 active cases.
