A military-grade cleaning product is being recalled.
According to Health Canada, Breakthrough Military-Grade Solvent “does not meet the child-resistant packaging nor the labelling requirements for consumer chemical products required by the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.”
It adds that the “products pose an aspiration hazard if inhaled or ingested. The lack of child-resistant packaging and appropriate labelling information could result in unintentional exposure to the product and lead to serious illness or injury, including death.”
As of December 4th, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
The recalled cleaning product was sold from January 2017 to December 2020. 3,574 units of the affected products have reportedly been sold in Canada.
There are three sizes of the product that are being recalled:
- Breakthrough Military-Grade Solvent 2 fl.oz / 59 mL, 852712005008
- Breakthrough Military-Grade Solvent 6 fl.oz / 177 mL, 852712005015
- Breakthrough Military-Grade Solvent 16 fl.oz / 473 mL, 852712005046
