The Darling Home For Kids is relaunching the Embrace Campaign.
Residents can donate to the palliative care home as it looks to build an extension. The Embrace Campaign was first launched back in March, right before the pandemic fully took effect. You can read up on the launch here.
The Director of Development for the Darling Home, Trevor Nash, says they are looking to build space for more children.
The Embrace Campaign is looking to raise $6.5 million to build a bigger and better home away from home for children with complex medical needs and their families. The expansion of The Darling Home for Kids is their most exciting capital campaign to date. It will add an additional 10,000 square feet onto their 23,000 square foot Home and allow them to welcome more children into their programs, providing the best care possible.
The Chief Executive Officer of The Darling Home For Kids, Kristin Horrell, says meeting the needs of the community in their current space is an ever-increasing challenge.
“As the number of medically complex children in Ontario continues to rise, the demand for our services has increased. We need to meet this growing demand and enhance our space to better accommodate our unique programming. With The Embrace Campaign we embark on a mission to provide each deserving child with the best care possible. They have beaten the odds to survive. Together we can help them make the most of each day they have.”
As they work to reach their goal, the Orlando Corporation is willing to match donations dollar-for-dollar for up to $3.5 million. Nash says they’re almost there.
