The Halton Police has wrapped up its first annual Diwali Food Drive.
It was organized by the HRPS South Asian Internal Support Network, with HRPS members (sworn and civilian) throughout the region collecting the food items to donate. The drive was held between Monday, November 2nd and Saturday, November 14th.
The donations are going to local food banks in Milton, Halton Hills, Oakville and Burlington.
The HRPS says in a release that it would like to make the food drive an annual tradition for Diwali. It adds that residents are encouraged to donate to local food banks throughout the year, if and when they can.
