Six more Halton residents are dead in the latest COVID-19 statistics for the region.
The deaths bring Halton to 54 deaths total from the virus. All six appear to be from Oakville, giving the town 20 deaths overall (the highest among Halton municipalities). Eight deaths have occurred at Chartwell Waterford Long Term Care Home since its outbreak began on October 13th. Seven deaths have occurred at Wyndham Manor Long Term Care Home since its outbreak began on October 21st.
Across Halton, there are 42 new cases being reported for Monday. That brings the region’s total to 3305 cases. There have been 2657 resolved cases. When accounting for the 54 deaths, Halton is up to 594 active cases.
In Milton, we have 23 new cases. Our total is up to 890 cases. With 668 resolved cases and four deaths, we now have 218 active cases – the most among Halton municipalities.
Oakville has 202 active cases, Burlington has 128 active cases, and Halton Hills has 46 active cases.
As for deaths, as mentioned, Oakville has the most among the four municipalities with 20. Burlington has 16 and Halton Hills has 14. Milton has the lowest with four, despite its high active case count.
