Milton Mayor Gordon Krantz is thanking veterans today.
The Town of Milton released a statement from Milton Krantz this morning regarding Remembrance Day:
“Today, as we mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, I encourage all Miltonians to reflect on the bravery of our Canadian heroes, past and present and the sacrifices they have made in the name of our freedom.
“On behalf of the Town of Milton, I thank veterans for all they have done for us. We also honour those currently serving in our armed forces during times of war, conflict and peace.
“While some in-person ceremonies will occur locally or across our nation, the ceremonies are more intimate this year to follow public health guidelines. I encourage all Miltonians to join the Canada’s National Remembrance Day Ceremony live on Facebook, starting today at 10:45 a.m.
“At 11 a.m., please join me, wherever you may be, in observing the Two Minutes of Silence to honour, thank and remember the brave Canadians who fought for us.
“Lest we forget.”
