An arrest has been made in a fraud investigation.
The Halton Police says the investigation began in May, 2019. It says that the founders of Havana Group Supplies fraudulently claimed to have gained lucrative construction contracts in Ontario. The claims were made to get smaller businesses to buy into the company.
One Halton resident reportedly invested a large sum of money, labour, and equipment. The victim also purchased vehicles for Havana Group Supplies.
48-year old Steven Sardinha of Hamilton has been arrested and charged with Fraud Over $5000. He is scheduled to appear in a Burlington court on December 1st.
