ACTION Milton is holding a meeting tonight (Thursday, November 5th) at 7:00 p.m..
The local group is hoping to stop the Campbellville Quarry from being developed.
The meeting will mark 100 days since myFM News asked Premier Doug Ford directly for his stance on the quarry. Premier Ford said at the time that he was against the quarry because the residents didn’t want it in the Milton area. Read more on his comments here.
“This is an important milestone,” explains George Minakakis, Chair of ACTION Milton. “There is an urgent need for Premier Ford to resolve this issue. The community needs to focus on the COVID 19 emergency and not be worried about whether or not we have to challenge this application at an LPAT hearing.”
MPP Parm Gill, Milton Mayor Krantz, and Councillors Colin Best and Kristina Tesser Derksen have all been invited to update the community.
David Donnelly, lawyer representing ACTION Milton, will describe the implications of the continuing Joint Agency Review Team (JART) and stress the need for the Ontario government to act now.
