The Halton Regional Police Service has made two arrests and seized one firearm after a traffic stop in Milton.
The stop happened at roughly 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6th on the James Snow Parkway in Milton. It was originally due to what the Halton Police calls “a Highway Traffic Act violation.”
During the stop, an investigation was executed and the two suspects were arrested.
18-year old llia Ayo of London has been charged with the following offences:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of Restricted Firearm
- Breach of Firearms Regulations
- Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
- Breach of Release Order (x2)
18-year old Mahmoud Abuain of Milton has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Schedule 4)
Both accused were held pending a bail hearing in Milton.
Items seized by police include a .45 calibre handgun, 14 grams of suspected fentanyl, and a large number of pills believed to be Xanax.
