It appeared to be a scary situation in Oakville earlier this week.
Residents heard yelling and screaming coming from a nearby apartment unit on Marlborough Court. Witnesses also say they saw a gun and hatchet being waved around by someone.
After reporting to the scene, officers quickly found out that the tenants were film students shooting a movie. They found a prop handgun and plastic hatchet.
All parties were released from custody and no charges were laid.
The Halton Police is asking residents to always notify the police before filming anything. That way officers will have prior knowledge in case any concerned citizens call the police.
When filming in public, be sure to review any relevant filming policies, and obtain proper filming permits from the town or city where the shoot is taking place.
