An Owen Sound resident will be cycling to raise money for ALS research.
Jeff Burnett lost his father Frank to what many people know as Lou Gehrig’s Disease on July 1st.
He says he documented his father’s two-year battle with ALS on his Facebook page to show people how crippling the disease is, not only to the affected individual, but also their families.
Burnett is going to be starting his journey this morning from Middleton Crescent in his hometown of Milton at 6:00 a.m., riding through small towns like Dundalk, Markdale, and Flesherton, finishing up at his father’s final resting place in Leith this afternoon.
He says the route his will be taking is the same one that his father took the family to Georgian Bay on weekends.
He hopes to not only raise money for ALS research but to make people more aware of this disease.
Burnett will be livestreaming it on his Facebook page.
