The Halton Women’s Place’s Hope in High Heels event is going virtual this year!
They really wanted to continue to engage the community with boys and men walking the streets in support of Halton Women’s Place and the fight to end violence against women.
This year, instead of a walk weekend, they will be holding the walkathon over the course of a week from September 21st to September 26th.
The Development and Communications Manager at Halton Women’s Place, Carm Bozzo, says you have other options than just walking.
They are giving prompts based off of statistics from their shelter to help get people started.
You can register on their website. Registration will be $40 for men and $10 for students.
They are asking people to share pictures of them walking and use the hashtag #HopeinHighHeels.
They will be encouraging their participants on social media throughout the week.
This year they do not have a fundraising target as they know how much people care about this event.
Bozzo says, especially with Hope in High Heels, Halton goes above and beyond.
