The Halton Environmental Network has partnered with Conservation Halton to host a clean up at Mount Nemo tomorrow (Wednesday, July 29th).
The clean up will go from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m..
The Program Manager with the Halton Environmental Network, Afreen Ghouse, says that although Conservation Halton has been managing how many people are in Mount Nemo at a time, people have not been very mindful about their waste.
To register, you can reach out to the Halton Environmental Network’s Waste Diversion Manager. They can inform you of when to be there and where to go in order to keep COVID-19 measures in place.
You can contact him at dorian@haltonenvironment.ca.
At the time of writing, there are still four or five spaces left, they are hoping to have a group of 12 volunteers.
This is one of many events as part of the Halton Environmental Network’s summer pop-up initiatives where they are asking residents to clean up an area in-need in the Region and log what waste they are picking up.
All you need to do is register your cleaning on their website and their waste manager will contact the Town to make sure the waste is properly disposed of after.
Ghouse informs us of their ‘Calling the Clean Up Crew’ initiative which has been extended to August 7th.
Anyone who submits a picture will be entered into their raffle to win a $25 gift card to Eco Philosophy.
Eco Philosophy is an eco-waste store that sells environmentally friendly products.
