
There was a double shooting in Burlington this afternoon. (Friday, July 10th)
The Halton Police were called to the scene at 484 Plains Road East in Burlington shortly after 1:00 p.m..
When officers arrived on scene, two victims with gunshot wounds were found.
Witnesses say that a male suspect fled the scene westbound on Plains Road East in a grey sedan.
One of the victims died of their injuries. The Halton Police have confirmed the victim is 52-year old Pasquale (Pat) Musitano of Hamilton. The other victim was transported to a hospital. They remain in serious condition.
The investigation is currently ongoing. No suspect description has been provided but they provided the following description of the fleeing vehicle:
“Newer model grey four (4) door sedan, similar to an Infiniti Q50 with a sunroof. This vehicle will have fresh damage to the driver’s side in the area of the doors.”
The Halton Police ask that if this vehicle is observed, call them immediately.
Expect a heavy police presence in the area for the evening.
The Halton Police confirmed that there is “no immediate ongoing, related, known threat to public safety.”
Plains Road East is closed in both directions between King Road and Waterdown Road. Please avoid the area until further notice.
Investigators are appealing for dash cam and/or commercial or residential surveillance footage from the area between 11:00 am and 1:30 pm on July 10, and to any witnesses or anyone who may have information related to this incident to contact the Halton Regional Police Service at 905-825-4777 or via the Homicide Tip Line at 905-825-4776.
