The Halton Regional Police Service has laid charges against a Vaughan resident during a theft and fraud investigation.
35-year old Laurentiu Avram is the second person arrested for Project Waldo.
The Halton Police say that between December (2019) and June, there have been a series of distraction thefts across southern Ontario.
Ten of these thefts occurred in the Halton region.
The group of thieves would target elderly women in retail and grocery stores.
They’d distract the women and steal their credit cards.
Avram was arrested in Montreal.
Investigators have a warrant out for a third male responsible for these crimes.
