
Just before 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24th, a Milton resident was stopped by OPP officers at the Service Centre on County Road 28, just north of Port Hope.
The vehicle, a white Ford Ranger pickup truck, had been spotted braking continuously and was unable to maintain travelling in a marked lane. With the help of a concerned motorist, the vehicle was found.
The truck was towed and impounded for seven days. The suspect’s drivers licence was immediately suspended for 90 days.
The Milton man was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on September 2nd.
Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Follow the acts of the concerned motorist from this morning and call 9-1-1 immediately if you suspect someone of driving impaired. Doing so could save lives.
