Premier Doug Ford is hoping this latest extension of the state of emergency is the last that he needs to provide.
It has been extended to July 15th.
It was passed this morning.
It’s expected that even if the state of emergency were to expire, many of the emergency orders made under it could continue. That includes the limit of people gathering.
Today is a big day for GTA businesses as both Toronto and the Peel Region join most of Ontario in entering Stage Two. The only area in the province to remain in Stage One is Windsor-Essex.
Halton recently joined Stage Two, allowing for select businesses to reopen their doors, like salons and restaurant patios.
