Milton Town Council approved a motion to allow to any necessary action to ensure resident safety when they go to Town parks in regards to COVID-19.
In the motion, there is a mention of fines being no more than $750 should someone go against the regulations.
Some municipalities have seen people have large fines against them for not following social distancing measures.
Town Councillor for Ward 4, Sameera Ali, clears up that placing large fines is not what the Town will be doing.
Councillor Ali adds that starting June 26th, the Town is launching their initiative, Park Ambassadors, to make sure everything is going smoothly.
By driving through her neighbourhood, Councillor Ali says that she sees most people are abiding by the rules while visiting parks with their groups and children.
However, she does acknowledge that there is going to be that percentage of people who don’t abide by the rules and understands it can be difficult when you have small children.
She shares a message to parents and other park goers.
