The Halton Region is reporting that Milton has lost one case of COVID-19, while the entire Region has a total of three new cases.
The total number of confirmed cases in Milton is now at 186.
The reason for the drop in cases is because the data extracted from iPHIS represent a snapshot at the time of extraction, and based on information gathered while doing case investigation, numbers may increase or decrease daily to reflect our most up to date information.
For example, a case who had a Milton address listed on their positive lab result may be entered into iPHIS as a Halton case when they are first received by Public Health. Subsequent discussion between the case and their assigned investigator may reveal that the case actually used to live in Milton, but have subsequently moved elsewhere and have not updated their health card, which resulted in the lab listing their old Milton address on the lab result.
Once the investigator has determined the case’s current correct address, the case record will be updated to reflect it, and the case may be transferred to another health unit if they no longer reside in Halton.
In Halton the total number of cases is 711, including 663 recoveries and 24 deaths.
