How is the Halton Region doing at keeping up with the novel coronavirus?
We spoke with the Halton Region’s Health Department for a COVID-19 update.
Associate Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deepika Lobo, says recent anti-racism protests could pose a serious risk for the spread of infection.
Dr. Lobo adds that Halton has done a great job at limiting the spread of COVID-19.
She says the Region and provincial government have both done well with communicating with each other.
Dr. Lobo touched on the Halton Region believing we should be entering stage two with the majority of Ontario.
She says that while the numbers match that opinion, but sometimes location is more important.
Moving forward, we need to make sure that we continue to follow public health guidelines.
All bookings for the Halton Healthcare COVID-19 Assessment Centres are received through a central intake phone line dedicated to this purpose.
