The reality of a growing population in Milton means more portables for students in high school.
Milton Town Council received a report asking for a by amendment so that Jean Vanier Secondary School could add 22 more portables, bringing the total to 60.
Halton Catholic District School Board Trustee, Marvin Duarte, says that they are limited in what they can do.
There are also some concerns about the spread of COVID-19 in portables because of a lack of space to physically distance.
Duarte says that he hopes to get clearer guidelines from the Minister of Education come September.
Duarte says they are trying to be proactive, but he is also asking to put pressure on the Provincial government.
Final approval for the bylaw is expected to be made in June.
