Halton Police have made an arrest in a human trafficking investigation in Burlington.
The arrest came after a woman reported a male suspect’s involvement in her sexual exploitation.
46-year old Amir Mehrani of North York is facing a list of charges:
- Adult Procuring by Exercise Control
- Adult Withholding or Destroying Documents
- Adult Trafficking in Persons
- Adult Material Benefit Resulting From Trafficking in Persons Material Benefit
Mehrani has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The Drug and Human Trafficking Unit is continuing the investigation.
