As the province enters the first stage of reopening, the Town of Milton is following the Region in remaining closed until they receive specific guidelines from the province and Halton’s Medical Officer of Health.
Milton’s Town Council are expected to make decisions regarding programs, rentals, and permits and an overall summer plan by June 1st and decisions will have to be made for the fall by July 1st.
Regional Councillor for Ward 1, Colin Best, reflects on the work Town staff are doing as they determine if summer programs should run.
At the moment, the Town is looking to possibly open Town facilities on July 5th.
Councillor Best explains their current status on the decision.
He talks about what is being done while the Town waits for the go ahead to reopen its businesses and reminds residents that it’s not a decision that can be made locally.
Councillor Best encourages residents to keep an eye on the Town and Regional website for any announcements, which you’ll be able to find on their homepages.
Look out for social media posts and continue to follow medical advice while we wait for more information.
