Workers at the Milton District Hospital went on strike this afternoon.
The group of 30-40 employees were protesting themselves not being given the pandemic pay issued by the provincial government.
Cardiology Technologist Lisa Wellwood was part of the group.
She says they workers are at-risk on a daily basis.
A number of her colleagues say they are not receiving the pay.
Wellwood says the lack of inclusion in the pandemic pay makes them feel like they’re not being appreciated as frontline workers.
As of May 14th, Milton has had 127 total confirmed positive cases of COVID-19.
Of those 127 cases, 110 have recovered and, unfortunately, four people have died.
