Halton Food for Thought received a big boost in funding.
They announced that they are receiving $40,000 from Community Food Centres Canada’s Good Food Access Fund.
Director of Communications and Development for Halton Food for Thought, Nancy Rumple, breaks down where the money will go towards.
Rumple says that the money will go even further because of a corporate partnership.
Moving forward, Rumple says gift cards can become more normal with donations.
Rumple says that the impact of COVID-19 has been felt by those who need food the most.
Funding is provided in part by the Government of Canada’s Local Food Infrastructure Fund, as part of the Food Policy for Canada.
The Fund aims to strengthen food systems and facilitate access to safe and nutritious food for at-risk populations.
