The Darling Home for Kids Embrace campaign is coming with a hug this year.
Cristiano Buchanan has more details of the campaign.
He was born three and a half months premature, and with multiple birth defects.
His very first surgery was performed within 25 hours of birth when he was only 900 grams.
His mom Francine says they are grateful for the Darling Home for the support they get.
Chief Executive Officer for the Darling Home for Kids, Kristin Horrell, says that it was a great idea from Cristiano.
She says that he is the perfect spokesperson for the program.
With a donation to The Embrace Campaign, donors will have the opportunity to offer words of encouragement and support to the children and families DHK serves, letting them know they’re standing behind them, helping them find the strength for one more day and offering them a virtual hug.
In return, every donor will receive a special virtual video hug from one of Darling Home’s kids.
You can also send a virtual hug to a friend, family member, or co-worker.
By donating in their name, they will receive a special virtual video hug from one of Darling Home’s kids and a message that you’re thinking of them and have sent them a hug.
Looking ahead to future events, Howell says that COVID-19 has impacted how they will operate.
