May 4th – 10th is Mental Health Week and CMHA is honouring it with their #GetReal campaign.
CMHA Halton Region Branch’s specialist for Health Promotion and Advancement, Melanie McGregor, describes this week as a dedication to getting people talking, thinking and connecting around good mental health.
She says that this year’s theme, Get Real, focuses on getting people to talk openly about how they’re feeling and get those conversations going.
Research done by CMHA shows that 77% of Canadians say they’re fine when asked how they are when they’re feeling more negative.
Their research also shows that Canadians are feeling anxious and are craving connection.
McGregor reminds us that connecting with people isn’t impossible while being physically distant, but that it’s about getting creative as to how we feel that connection.
McGregor shares details about the social media campaign CMHA Halton is holding this week.
