More people in Ontario will now have access to mental health services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced they are expanding virtual mental health services to help thousands of people experiencing anxiety and depression.
Ford says some people have lost their jobs and others have lost family members and everyone is handling the situation differently.
The province has committed $12-million to hire and train staff, purchase equipment and technology and enhance supports for online mental health services.
Ford says they will also have support for frontline health care workers who may be burning out or experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder.
