As we round up volunteer week, we are shining a light on the Milton Youth Task Force.
The group is focused on making the town a better place, especially for youth through roundtables and advocacy projects.
That includes a roundtable with Ontario’s Lieutenant Governor, Elizabeth Dowdeswell, to discuss the potential geopark in Town.
They also helped the Town of Milton with the #MiltonYouthSurvey.
Community Development Advisor of the Town of Milton’s Youth Strategy, Andrea Beebe, talks about the group.
Grade 12 student from White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville, Bilal Ahmed, talks about how he got involved.
Ahmed shares with us what being a volunteer means to him.
Beebe says working with these youth inspires her.
As we see our new normal shift, Beebe says it is more critical than ever to have committed community personnel on the ground helping one another.
Youth between the ages of 13 and 18 can get involved by emailing youth@milton.ca. They will be sent an application.
