
An update has been provided by the Region of Halton for the COVID-19 outbreak.
There are now 415 confirmed positive cases in Halton, 84 in Milton. That is five new cases in Halton. Currently, there are 57 recovered cases in Milton.
Across Ontario, there are 13,519 cases. That is 640 (5% increase) more than yesterday.
There have been 7,087 resolved cases, and unfortunately, 763 people have died province-wide.
207,040 have been tested in Ontario. 5,414 tests are currently under investigation.
910 people are hospitalized with COVID-19. 243 are in ICU with COVID-19. 193 are in ICU on a ventilator with COVID-19.
Symptoms of COVID-19 may include:
- Fever or new cough or difficulty breathing
- Muscle aches, fatigue, headache, sore throat, runny nose or diarrhea
- Symptoms in young children may be non-specific (e.g., lethargy, poor feeding)
Severe symptoms may include:
- Shortness of breath when walking, exercising, or at rest, which is unusual for the patient
- Chest pain, extreme fatigue, drowsiness, unstable vital signs
Anyone who develops symptoms, whether they have traveled or not, should self-isolate for 14 days, or until they have been symptom-free for 24 hours, whichever is longer. Those with mild symptoms and no complications do not need to contact Public Health.
