
A statistical update has been provided by the Region of Halton for the COVID-19 outbreak.
There are now 394 confirmed positive cases in Halton, 78 in Milton. That is eight more cases in Halton compared to yesterday, while Milton remains even.
Across Ontario, there are 12,245 cases. That is 510 (4.3% increase) more than yesterday.
There have been 6,221 resolved cases, and unfortunately, 659 people have died province-wide.
184,531 have been tested in Ontario. 6,845 tests are currently under investigation.
878 people are hospitalized with COVID-19. 243 are in ICU with COVID-19. 192 are in ICU on a ventilator with COVID-19.
Symptoms of COVID-19 may include:
- Fever or new cough or difficulty breathing
- Muscle aches, fatigue, headache, sore throat, runny nose or diarrhea
- Symptoms in young children may be non-specific (e.g., lethargy, poor feeding)
Severe symptoms may include:
- Shortness of breath when walking, exercising, or at rest, which is unusual for the patient
- Chest pain, extreme fatigue, drowsiness, unstable vital signs
Anyone who develops symptoms, whether they have traveled or not, should self-isolate for 14 days, or until they have been symptom-free for 24 hours, whichever is longer. Those with mild symptoms and no complications do not need to contact Public Health.
