
The Halton Region has released their latest COVID-19 statistics.
Milton has seen an increase of just one confirmed positive case, going from 66 to 67 cases.
Halton saw a slightly higher increase of 335 to 344 positive cases.
The province of Ontario continues to see rapid growth in cases day-by-day. The latest numbers have total positive cases province-wide at 8,447. That’s an increase of 494 (6.2%). That is one of the highest daily increases of COVID-19 cases in Ontario.
There have been 119,092 total tests completed and 3,902 cases have been resolved. Unfortunately, there were 51 deaths in the last 24-hours. That increase brings the total number of deaths up to 385.
4,429 tests are currently under investigation in Ontario.
795 people have been hospitalized, 254 patients are in the ICU and 188 are in the ICU on a ventilator.
Symptoms of COVID-19 may include:
- Fever or new cough or difficulty breathing
- Muscle aches, fatigue, headache, sore throat, runny nose or diarrhea
- Symptoms in young children may be non-specific (e.g., lethargy, poor feeding)
Severe symptoms may include:
- Shortness of breath when walking, exercising, or at rest, which is unusual for the patient
- Chest pain, extreme fatigue, drowsiness, unstable vital signs
Anyone who develops symptoms, whether they have traveled or not, should self-isolate for 14 days, or until they have been symptom-free for 24 hours, whichever is longer. Those with mild symptoms and no complications do not need to contact Public Health.
