
The provincial government has announced that they will be helping post-secondary students who are affected by the outbreak by temporarily deferring OSAP payments and making online learning supports and exams available to post secondary institutions.
Loan repayments will be subject to a 6 month interest free deferral until September 30th, 2020.
Students can still make one time payments via their online account or online banking if they want to repay their loans sooner.
In a press release, the provincial government says they have made an agreement with ECampusOntario to make digital learning supports available to post secondary students in both english and french. This will allow schools the ability to conduct their year-end exams or assessments.
The province says they are working with indigenous institutes and private career colleges to make sure they have the ability to offer digital learning.
They have also announced that they will be investing 25 million dollars in additional funding to publicly-assisted colleges, universities and Indigenous institutes to ensure needs, such as deep cleaning, medical supplies and mental health supports. are met.
