Milton’s Town Council will be holding their meeting via teleconference tonight in order to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Town councillor for Ward 1, Kristina Tesser Derksen says they are still working out all the details and their hope is that by next month they will have video capabilities set up in order to make it easy for residents to listen in and delegates to participate.
Like everyone, she doesn’t know when things will return back to normal.
A big concern for residents has been the deferral of property taxes, Councillor Kristina Tesser Derksen says will be on their agenda.
Councillor Tesser Derksen says the pandemic has been top of mind for everyone but they are still working business as usual remotely.
She adds that there are still items that need their attention and they are prioritizing them as best as they can while also putting all the resources they can into fighting further transmission.
If you are wanting to get involved in tonight’s meeting she says that you should be able to either send in an email or call Town hall to get directions on how you can dial in.
We may see Councillor Tesser Derksen and regional councillor Colin Best put forward a motion about the Reid/Side Road quarry tonight.
This may also be done in April.
Today’s council meeting will be streamed on the Town of Milton Council’s Youtube account at 4pm.
