With women and children forced to isolate due to COVID 19, there are increased risks for those who are survivors of domestic violence.
Executive Director of Halton Women’s Place, Diane Beaulieu, talks about the numbers of crisis calls they’ve seen so far.
As of Thursday March 26th, they have only seen a slight increase in calls.
Beaulieu encourages women in need to call their crisis line.
She says they are doing everything they can as they always do to help women remain safe even though both of their services are at full capacity.
Adding that their staff will continue to work with women on safety plans at this time.
