On Tuesday, the IOC confirmed that the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics were to be postponed until 2021 due to COVID-19.
We spoke to Milton MP Adam van Koeverden after it was announced that Canadian athletes would not be going to Tokyo.
As an Olympian, he gives some insight on how both athletes and himself felt during the decision making process.
He says the ability to train and focus on a world cup season at this time is impossible at this time.
van Koeverden has a message of encouragement for Milton residents.
The Milton MP echoes Prime Minister Trudeau’s message that we all need to do our part and stay home and listen to the health services community of Canada.
