As the COVID-19 outbreak continues, myFM spoke with Milton MP, Adam van Koeverden, about a few topics including Miltonian’s concerns, travel, and the best practices to stay healthy.
van Koeverden says Miltonians are really concerned about their small businesses.
Other concerns he has addressed include travel.
He addresses questions revolving around why Canada isn’t closing the border to American citizens.
van Koeverden says he listens to the experts and really believes that social distancing is our best defense against the disease.
He reiterates that Canadians need to stay home, Canadians who are abroad need to come home and that they are closing the border to any non-Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or American citizens at this time.
There is funding to help those who are symptomatic while abroad get home through their billion dollar action plan that includes dropping restrictions that will make it easier for Canadians to gain access to their employment insurance.
In a message of support to Miltoninas, van Koeverden encourages everyone to stay busy and keep active.
He encourages people to call their friends and family, there’s no reason to be completely isolated.
