As the COVID-19 outbreak continues, over 1500 Milton residents have come together to volunteer their time and abilities to help the Town’s elderly and immunocompromised through a group called Milton COVID Assistance.
Milton COVID Assistance member, Craig Thomson, talks about the inspiration behind their group that all started with a discussion on the Facebook group, Milton Talk.
He says they have been blown away by the response.
Thomson talks about the measures they are taking to ensure the health and safety of those receiving this service.
He adds that if it’s a porch, drop-off money will be left in envelopes and there will be a good amount of distance between the volunteer and the individual if there is a face to face interaction.
Thomson has a message for Miltonians.
