
March on Main for International Women’s Day was on Friday.
The walk began with remarks and a proclamation of the day by Mayor Gordon Krantz at Milton Town Hall.
Walkers then walked along Main with noisemakers and signs towards the Milton Lowes.
Councillor Sameera Ali reflects on this year’s attendance.
Ali shared a quote by Professor Maya, that women need to stop apologizing for the good work we do.
She echoes that encouraging women to own all that they do.

Councillor Kristina Tesser Derksen says its the one day a year where everyone comes together and focuses their attention on the work of women, the plight of women, and all that everyone needs to keep going forward.
There was a large number of participants ranging in both age and gender at this year’s walk. It was put on by the Canadian Federation of University Women.
