It’s been announced that all four Ontario teachers’ unions are on strike today (Friday, February 21st).
The move reportedly leaves roughly two million students out of class.
The unions that are participating are the:
- Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO)
- Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF)
- Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA)
- Association des enseignantes et des enseignants franco-ontariens (AEFO)
The announcement came as all four unions were represented at a speech by Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce in downtown Toronto last week.
