The Milton District Hospital has just received a boost to the tune of $26,000.
The grant money comes from the Milton Community Fund and helped Halton Healthcare purchase two blood gas analyzers for the Laboratory at MDH.
In a release, the hospital explains that the analyzers will be an essential tool in the diagnosis of conditions such as septic shock, drug overdoses, kidney failure, and shock.
The move comes as, over the past year, MDH has seen an almost 20% increase in surgical volumes.
Since the analyzers will be used daily and results will be available day and night, the new technology will be able to assist, providing critical care results quickly.
The grant for the gas blood analyzers, the Milton Community Fund, supports activities and projects that will enhance the quality of life and/or the image of the community based on proceeds received from the Mohawk location of the OLG Corporation.
